In the song playing screen (Go to the "Songs" tab - Select your song to start playing) If the time signature is 4/4 (most of the time) the best way to see the chord bubbles is that large bubbles are on the 1,2,3,4 of the song or beat and the smaller bubbles are half measures that can be seen as 'ands' so one whole line should be seen as 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and.
The chord bubbles don’t call for a specific strumming pattern, so you need to check which pattern to use before you start playing. The strum pattern can be found under the ‘Strum’ tab when you click it on the right upper side of your song player screen.
The strumming pattern does not change from chord to chord, it remains the same regardless of the chord you are playing.
You are supposed to apply the strumming pattern on the song you're playing (the play-along screen shows you the chords you have to play, it does not show the strumming pattern because you are supposed to apply that yourself). So, when you watch the strumming pattern, do you notice an orange line going from the left side to the right side under the chord bubble and lyrics line? The time it takes for the line to go from one side to the other encompasses one strumming pattern or bar of music.
