You can select a song in the Home screen or search for a song in the Play tab to start playing.
In the song player screen, two-chord symbols (or bubbles) on a single row means, there is a strum pattern at play. If the time signature is 4/4 (which is, most of the time), the first bubble is located on the 1st beat of the measure and the second one is on the 3rd beat.
The chord bubbles don’t call for a specific strumming pattern, so you need to check which pattern to use before you start playing. The strum pattern can be found under the ‘Strum’ tab on the top of your song player screen.
If there’s only one chord bubble on a row, you should just play a single down strum on beat one.
What's more, the strumming pattern does not change from chord to chord, it remains the same regardless of the chord you are playing.
You are supposed to apply the strumming pattern on the song you playing (the play-along screen shows you the chords you have to play, it does not show the strumming pattern because you are supposed to apply that yourself). So, when you watch the strumming pattern, do you notice a white vertical line going from the left side to the right side on top of the chord bubble and dots line? The time it takes for the line to go from one side to the other encompasses one strumming pattern.
Additionally, the dots above the lines of the lyrics are supposed to help you count the beats. As when you tap your feet, the bigger dots are down, and the smaller ones are up.
